Eigentlich hatte ich bislang nicht geplant über Restaurants zu schreiben, davon bekomm ich nur Hunger!… Und außerdem gibt es ja auch genügend Restaurantführer. Aber manchmal ist es doch ganz interessant ein paar persönliche Tips zu bekommen…. Von jemandem, der dafür nicht bezahlt wurde. Auch wenn ich nix dagegen gehabt hätte 😉

Actually, I had not planned to write about restaurants. I just get hungry of writing about food…  And besides, there are plenty of restaurant guides, anyway. But sometimes it’s quite interesting to get a few personal tips …. From someone who was not paid for it. Even if I wouldn’t have anything against it;-)

Piloni im Westen

Das Piloni am Bismarckplatz im Stuttgarter Westen hat vor nicht allzu langer Zeit eröffnet und ich habe mich gleich beim ersten Besuch verliebt. Der Service ist zwar etwas chaotisch, dafür aber umso sympathischer. Typisch italienisch also! Da ich als erste da war, saß ich allein an der Bar und wartete auf Tisch und Freundinnen, aber ungefragt gesellte sich dann doch innerhalb von wenigen Sekunden jemand zu mir: ein Glas Prosecco 😉 aufs Haus. Es sind einfach die kleinen Dinge, die mein Herz höher schlagen lassen. Außerdem ist das Essen wirklich sehr lecker. Als Vorspeise absolut zu empfehlen – ok, don’t judge me! aber manchmal muss man auch sündigen dürfen – ist das Thunfisch-Carpaccio! So lecker! Danach die Pizza mit Büffelmozarella und scharfer Salami. Nachtisch kann ich leider keinen empfehlen. Was aber ganz einfach daran liegt, dass dafür kein Platz mehr war! Absolut untypisch für mich! Insofern muss ich wohl sehr bald wieder hin 😉

Piloni – upper westside

The Piloni, right at the Bismarckplatz in the west of Stuttgart, opened just recently and I fell in love with it at first sight. The service is a bit chaotic, but just because of that: really sympathetic. Anyhow: Typically Italian! When I was there my very first time, I was sitting alone at the bar, waiting for a table and my girlfriends, but unasked, all of a sudden, I had company: a glass of Prosecco on the house;-). It’s the little things, that make my heart beat faster. Moreover, the food is really delicious. Highly recommended as a starter – ok, do not judge me for that one! but sometimes you have to sin – is the tuna carpaccio! So delicious! Then the pizza with buffalo mozzarella and spicy salami. Desert, sorry, no recommendation! The reason for that one is, that there was no more room for it! Very, vey unusual for me! In this respect, I’ll be back 😉

L.A. Signorina im Süden

Ich gebe es ungern zu, aber ist es tatsächlich so, wie die Stuttgarter Zeitung es vor ein paar Wochen geschrieben hat: der Stuttgarter Süden hat etwas, was dem Westen einfach fehlt: einen Hotspot, einen place to be, oder wie auch immer man das nennen mag. Einen Ort, an dem sich alles tummelt, was hip und trendy ist. Der Marienplatz. Und direkt an diesem Hotspot, findet man das L.A. Signorina. Dort gibt es die wohl abgefahrensten Pizzen in der Stadt. Neben Pizza mit Crème fraîche, Chicorée, Roquefort, Walnüssen und Honigkresse findet man auch Pizza mit Tomatensauce, Flußkrebsschwänzen, Avokado und Grapefruitöl. Die Pizzen sind also wie das Publikum: gemischt, mit jugendlichem Charme und durch und durch hip. Ein toller Italiener zum Abhängen.

L.A. Signorina – southside

Although it is very hard to admit, but it is just treu, what was written in the Stuttgarter Zeitung just a few weeks ago: the South of Stuttgart has something that the West simply lacks: a hotspot, a „it“-place to be, or however you wanna call it. A place, where you catch up with anyone hip and trendy. The Marienplatz. And right on this hotspot, the L.A. Signorina is situated. There, you will find the most craziest pizzas in town. Besides pizza with sour cream, endive, Roquefort, walnuts and honey cress is also found Pizza with tomato sauce, cray fish tails, avocado and grapefruit oil. The pizzas are just like the audience: mixed, hip with a youthful charm throughout. A great Italian restaurant to hang out.

Il Pomodoro im Westen

Auch wenn der entsprechende Hotspot im Westen erst noch gebaut werden muss, findet man hier in allen Straßen und an allen Ecken tolle Restaurants. Das Il Pomodoro im Westen finde ich das gemütlichste der Tomaten-Familie. Wenn noch kein Platz frei ist, gibt’s vor dem Restaurant einen Prosecco aufs Haus. Ok, mir fällt es grad wie Schuppen von den Augen, ich bin sowas von käuflich 😉 Nein, absoluter Zufall und wenn es irgendwo mies ist, dann hilft auch kein Bestechungs-Prosecco mehr … Also, zurück zum eigentlichen Thema: Draußen, auf dem Gehweg vor dem Restaurant, sammeln sich die Wartenden in irgendwie absolut urbaner, aber in keiner Weise unangenehmer Atmosphäre. Und wenn man dann schließlich sein Plätzchen gefunden hat, wird langsam klar: das Essen ist einfach zu geil! Obwohl ich gestehen muss: Pasta hin oder her, ich geh hier für die Pizza hin. Knaller: Pizza Topolina (Rucola, Parmaschinken, Kirschtomaten) oder Pizza Verdura (frisches Gemüse).

Il Pomodoro – westside

Even if the corresponding hotspot on the westside is yet to be built, in every street and in every nook you will find great restaurants. Il Pomodoro on the westside, is the most comfortable of the tomato-family. If there is no available space, a Prosecco on the house is served in front of the reatuarant. Ok, I realize it right now, you can blackmail me  😉 No, it’s just coincidence, and if it is  bad, no bribery-Prosecco will help at all… So, back to the topic: Outside, on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant, the waiting gather in a urban, but in no way unpleasant, atmosphere. And when you have finally found your place, it’s now becoming clear: the food is just too cool! Although I must confess: I’m here  for the pizza. Tops: Pizza Topolina (arugula, Parma ham, cherry tomatoes) or Pizza Verdura (fresh vegetables).

Italia im Osten

Das Italia habe ich über eine Freundin kennen gelernt, die in der Nähe des Italia arbeitet. Ansonsten verschlägt es wohl auch die wenigsten in die Neckarstraße (Stuttgart-Ost), die sich ihren Bekanntheitsgrad wohl eher durch ihre Verkehrsdichte und ihre entsprechenden Feinstaubwerte, als durch ihre kulinarischen Möglichkeiten erarbeitet hat. Jedenfalls ist in der Neckarstraße das Italia. Und wenn man im Italia ist, fühlt man sich auch direkt wie in Italia. Eine Speisekarte gibt es zwar, aber da muss man nur dann reinschauen, wenn der Vortrag des Besitzers über das tagesaktuelle, frische Fleisch-, Fisch-, Pasta- oder vegetarische Gericht nicht eh schon überzeugt hat; was tatsächlich äußerst unwahrscheinlich ist. Vielleicht steht in der Karte ja auch gar nichts drin. Man weiß es nicht 😉 Die melodisch vorgetragenen Gerichte halten dann auch noch absolut das was sie versprechen.

Italia – eastside

I got to know the Italia through a friend, who works near the Italia. Otherwise nobody would ever end up on purpose in the Neckarstraße (Stuttgart-Ost), which has its visibility probably developed rather by its traffic and its corresponding PM levels, than by its culinary possibilities. Anyway, in the Neckarstraße you find the Italia. And if you are in the Italia, you feel directly as in Italia. A menu actually exists, but you will will only need it, if the presentation of the owner on the daily, fresh meat, fish, pasta or vegetarian dish will not convince you anyway; which is very unlikely indeed. Actually, I am not even sure if there is anything on the menue 😉 The melodic presented dishes definetly keep their promises.

Aber jetzt würde mich natürlich auch interessieren: Was sind Eure Lieblingsitaliener in Stuttgart und Umgebung?
